The LAGBUS Asset Management Ltd., operators of LAGBUS and the Lagos Area Metropolitan Transport Authority (LAMATA), operators of Bus Rapid Transport (BRT)– will extend their free ride to commuters on Easter Monday, April 1.
The two operators said on Friday in Lagos that the bus ride, which was also free on Good Friday, was to show appreciation to their teeming passengers.
Babatunde Disu, the Managing Director of Asset Management Ltd., said that the LAGBUS free ride would be mainly for tourists going for the Lagos Heritage Carnival in Marina, Lagos Island.
He said that the buses would take off from such points as FESTAC, Mile Two, Oshodi, Mile 12 and Berger on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Disu said that the management would provide 100 buses on the Easter Monday, adding that it provided 120 buses on Good Friday.
He added that all commuters would be dropped off at the Tafawa Balewa Square on Lagos Island.
LAMATA External Relations Specialists, Kolawole Ojelabi, said that BRT buses would cover all their usual routes on Easter Monday.
